About Michele
As a Chico native deeply rooted in our community, education has always been a cornerstone of my life. My ties to this area run deep, with my children proudly representing the fifth generation of our family to call Chico home.
My educational journey began at Marigold and Shasta Elementary schools, followed by Bidwell Jr. High and Chico High School, where I received a quality education that laid the foundation for my future endeavors.
Professionally, I’ve excelled as an HR professional, bringing leadership and organizational skills to the table. But beyond my career, I am the proud wife of a dedicated Special Education Teacher. Together, we’ve raised three wonderful children within the Chico Unified School District, instilling in them the same values of community and education that I hold dear.
Investing in our childrens future
As a mother and grandmother, I understand the importance of investing in our children’s future. That’s why I’ve been actively involved in youth programs like 4-H, FFA, and the Grange for over 15 years. From serving as a 4-H leader, club leader, and Executive Board member to being a founding board member of the re-established Chico Grange in 2022, I’ve remained steadfast in my commitment to nurturing the next generation.
My advocacy doesn’t stop there. I continue to support these youth programs and initiatives like the Jr. Livestock auction, ensuring our children have access to diverse opportunities for growth and development.
In high school, I personally experienced the value of vocational education through the ROP program, now known as the CTE program. It provided me with invaluable skills and career opportunities. Today, I’m passionate about supporting these programs in our schools, knowing they play a crucial role in preparing our students for success in the modern world.
Having raised my own children here, I’m deeply invested in the future of Chico. I believe in being a voice for parents and ensuring our schools provide the best possible environment for our children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
It would be my honor to serve our community as a member of the school board, working tirelessly to create a brighter future for all Chico families
